The DNA Cloning Service provides the molecular biology support for the MRC Protein Phosphorylation Unit. The team consists of four scientists that provide over 3000 sequence verified constructs per year. The specialised core support that we provide delivers clones needed by the Unit very rapidly and in a cost effective manner.
The Service is staffed by:

I was born and educated in Hungary, completing my Ph.D. in Plant Biology from the J.A. University of Szeged in 1988. After that I carried out postdoctoral work with Nam-Hai Chua at the Rockefeller University (New York) followed by another year with Steve Free at the University of Buffalo, (New York). I returned to the Biological Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Szeged) in 1991 and came to the University of Dundee in 1996 where I initially worked with David Glover before joining Dario Alessi's group in the MRC-PPU as a postdoctoral researcher in 1997. I have been a member of the DNA Cloning Team since it was formed in 2001.

I gained an honours degree in Molecular Biology from The University of Glasgow in 1997 and then worked for several Biotech Companies, most recently CXR Biosciences at Dundee. I joined the DNA cloning facility in May 2008.

I obtained my B.Sc. and Ph.D. at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and then carried out postdoctoral research with Rod Herbert and then Michael Stark at the University of Dundee. I joined the DNA Cloning Team in June 2001 and this year also obtained a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Dundee.

I obtained my B.Sc. from the University of Durham and my Ph.D. in molecular virology from the University of Warwick. I joined the molecular biology team in 2002, following two postdoctoral positions in molecular virology at the Scottish Crop Research Institute, Dundee. I make many of the mouse targeting constructs for the MRC Unit, as well as providing molecular biology support for several of the research groups.
