I joined Ganley in February 2022 as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. My project is aimed at development of pharmacological activators of autophagy.

Before joining the lab, I obtained MSc in molecular biology and PhD in neuroscience from Belgrade University, (Belgrade, Serbia). My postdoctoral experiences include University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, USA), and University of Veterinary Medicine, (Hanover, Germany). During my career I investigated various mechanisms in different neurodegenerative diseases such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, with most focus on Parkinson’s disease (PD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). My most recent research observes processes of adult neurogenesis, the cell specific sensitivity to direct and indirect effects of alpha-synuclein overexpression and the cellular/circuitry mechanisms of enhanced fear and anxiety phenotypes in transgenic PD/DLB animal model.
