1. Medical Research Council (MRC) and University of Dundee jointly funded studentships
We offer two types of 4-year MRC Prize Studentships. We encourage students to take the programme with two 4.5 month rotation projects followed by the main PhD project. Students will gain considerable research experience before starting their PhD, and exposure to two different labs can be very helpful in deciding which PhD project and which lab to work in. In the second 4 year programme students just choose one lab to work in for their PhD.
We have several studentships available for the academic year starting September 2017 an earlier start date may be possible; the stipend is £20,000 per annum tax-free, and funds will be available for you to attend at least one international conference.
2. Project-specific funding
Occasionally we advertise projects that are supported by other funding bodies. Details of this type of funding will be attached to the individual projects that apply.
Please send a CV with contact details of three referees to firstname.lastname@example.org, and also include a covering letter indicating which research labs you would like to work in.
Please indicate which type of studentship you are applying for a
MRC 4 year studentship with or without rotation projects
There is no deadline for MRC funded PhD applications
Note that applicants will only be contacted if invited for interview.
