Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the chemical biology lab of Professor Satpal Virdee). This project will involve the development of innovative and urgently needed tools for the study of poorly understood areas of the ubiquitin system. The ubiquitin system is a central regulator of cells and contains a wealth of undiscovered aspects and untapped therapeutic possibilities. We have shown that working at the interface between chemistry and biology is essential for driving this exciting field of research forward (Squair & Virdee Nat Chem Biol, 2022). The successful applicant will benefit from working in a multidisciplinary lab equipped for chemistry and biology to the highest standard. The post will provide excellent career development opportunities. For further details, please consult http://www.ppu.mrc.ac.uk

Passionate candidates should ideally have recently carried out a PhD working in chemistry-related area. The position will be a fantastic opportunity for candidates to broaden their skillset by working in a multidisciplinary lab using state-of-the-art technologies. Coupled with this exciting area of biological focus, the project will provide an excellent opportunity for career development with mentoring support to reach career aspirations.
