I joined the Sapkota laboratory in September 2019 for a 4yr BBSRC EASTBIO PhD Studentship. My project involves development of the AdPROM system to enable targeted protein modification. Prior to this, I graduated from the University of Dundee with a first class BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences, with a strong focus on cell signalling and drug discovery. I completed my Honours project in Prof. Grahame Hardie’s laboratory where I used CRISPR technology to study the AMPK signalling pathway.

I have also undertaken multiple summer internships: the first of which was within Prof. Ian Gilbert’s medicinal chemistry laboratory, where I synthesised compounds for a fragment-based drug discovery programme against Leishmaniasis; and the second was within Prof. Dario Alessi’s laboratory where I focussed on the LRRK2 pathway involved in Parkinson’s disease.
