We’re delighted to congratulate Yana Korenchuk, an undergraduate summer student in the MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit, on winning First Prize at the School of Life Sciences (SLS) Summer School Poster Session.
Yana has been assessing levels of LRRK2 pathway components using a BromoTag-LRRK2 knock-in mouse model generated by MRC Harwell. Her poster presented preliminary data showing how the BromoTag impacts LRRK2 expression across multiple mouse tissues, and how this, in turn, affects Rab10 phosphorylation. These early findings provide valuable insights into the this new mouse model and will inform future experimental directions.
Yana is currently entering her fourth-year undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Dundee.
She was supervised by Dr Pawel Lis on this project.
We are thrilled that Yana's hard work has been recognised, and we hope this will be the first of many scientific awards to come!
