MRC-PPU paper highlighted as the Editor's Choice by Science Signalling

A paper published by Philip Cohen's group in J. Cell Sci. (2008) 121, 149-154 entitled 'TPL2-mediated activation of ERK1 and ERK2 regulates the processing of pre-TNFÃ_± in LPS-stimulated macrophages' has been highlighted as the Editor's Choice in the second issue of Science Signalling, a new journal published by Science which started in January 2008. In this paper, Simon Rousseau, a senior postdoc in Philip's lab, showed that the TPL2-MKK1-ERK1/2 signalling pathway regulates the processing of pre-TNFÃ_± to TNFÃ_± rather than interfering with TNFÃ_± production at the level of gene expression, as had been previously thought.
