For the last two years I have been studying Biochemistry at the University of Bath and as part of our course we are strongly encouraged to spend our 3rd year on placement. I have been lucky enough to secure a 10-month placement at MRC PPU working in Professor Muqit’s lab where I will be studying the PINK1/Parkin pathway and the possible downstream substrates of these proteins. After completing my BSc in Biochemistry, I am planning to continue my further education with a MSc and (I hope) a doctorate.
