Tom did his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Oxford and his Part II with Prof Chris Schofield FRS studying ribosomal proline hydroxylation. He then did a PhD at the MRC Human Genetics Unit at the University of Edinburgh supervised by Dr Maria Christophorou and Prof Chris Ponting studying the activation of citrullination in embryonic stem cells and neutrophils. He moved to the MRC PPU in 2020 to join the Kulathu lab and is working on UFMylation.
