I joined Dr Paul Davies’ lab (PD) in 2022 as an industrial placement student during my B.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences at University of Dundee. Following this, I completed my honours project and began my PhD in 2024 in PD lab in the MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit at the University of Dundee. My research focuses on using human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (heart muscle cells) to develop a 3D heart model. With this model, I aim to investigate the molecular pathways involved in ischaemia/reperfusion injury in the human heart and to identify potential therapeutics to mitigate the resulting heart injury.
