Alison joined the Muqit Lab in September 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher. Her research is focussed on understanding the molecular and genetic regulation of PINK1/Parkin signalling in Parkinson's Disease through the application of CRISPR screening technology.

Prior to joining the MRC PPU, Alison completed her PhD in the labs of A/Prof. Dan Peet and Prof. Darryl Russell at Adelaide University, Australia. In this project she investigated the regulation of the hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) transcription factors in normal physiology and disease, which included pathway investigations from both a drug screening and CRISPR genetic screening perspective. Outside of the lab Alison enjoys running, hiking and cooking, and is looking forward to exploring the Scottish landscape while at the University of Dundee.
