I joined Professor Miratul Muqit’s lab as a PhD student funded by an Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) scholarship, focusing on the LRRK2 and PINK1 signaling pathways implicated in Parkinson’s disease. My research combines the development of a method for the rapid and specific isolation of cellular organelles from brain tissue with multiomics approaches, including proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics, to uncover molecular mechanisms of dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease.

I hold a BSc in Biology from the University of Patras and an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh, where I investigated the dopaminergic system and specialised in the fields of neurodegeneration and regeneration. I am currently continuing in the lab as a postdoctoral researcher.
