David joined the Virdee lab in November 2020. He completed his PhD from the MRC LMB in Cambridge working on membrane protein crystallography under the supervision of Dr. Chris Tate. He then continued work on membrane protein structural biology at Astex Pharmaceuticals as a “Sustaining Innovation” postdoctoral training fellow. In a further postdoctoral position at the University of Leeds, he gained expertise in cryoEM, solving structures of multimeric ion channels. His project will focus on the structure determination of protein complexes involved in E3 ligase function using a combination of crystallography and cryoEM.
