I completed a BSc in Biology (Minor in Chemistry with Distinction) at the College of the Bahamas and went on to complete a Masters by Research in Immunobiology at Newcastle University.

I joined Professor Derek Mann’s Lab where I completed a PhD in Molecular Biochemistry. My project involved understanding the structural basis of the interaction between NF-κB subunit p50 and Histone Deacetylase 1 and how this interaction mediates the inflammatory response.

I went on to complete a post doc at Newcastle University in Professor Jonathan Higgins' Lab working to understand the kinases responsible for and the role of phosphorylation events in mitosis alongside developing a method to identify kinases responsible for known important sites of phosphorylation.

In my current role at the MRC PPU I am working in Professor Gopal Sapkota’s lab on understanding the biology of casein kinase 1, its substrates and the mechanism of its action in conjunction with the FAM83 protein family in various contexts including mitosis.
