This is Emily our master’s student in Miratul Muqit’s lab who started with us in October 2020. Emily graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and is really excited to undertake her project on investigating the role of phosphorylated ubiquitin in health and disease. The project uses exciting new phospho antibodies to detect protein kinases ability to phosphorylate ubiquitin, and the residues they phosphorylate.
Outside of the lab Emily enjoys fitness, and during her undergraduate years she was heavily involved in the water polo club but has recently taken up running while the swimming pools are closed.
