I joined the unit in October 2019 to undertake my first rotation project as an MRC DTP PhD student in Miratul Muqit’s lab focusing on how the Parkinson associated PINK1 kinase is regulated by Rab GTPases. I hold a BSc in Biochemical and Molecular Biology from University College Dublin and a MSc in Molecular Medicine from Trinity College Dublin.
Previous projects involve using mass spectrometry to determine if increasing temperatures induces a conformational change in the bacterial integral membrane protein LeuT (Protein Analysis Group, University Copenhagen, Denmark) and identifying peripheral biomarkers for measuring the outcomes of clinical trials in Rett syndrome (Tropea group, Department of Psychiatry, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland).
