I obtained PhD from TIFR, Mumbai, India. After a postdoctoral training at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, I worked as a Senior Research Associate in Prof. Tanaka laboratory at University of Dundee (UoD), Dundee, UK. My research experience includes accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis, microtubule targeting cancer drugs, microtubule dynamics and motor proteins. I studied the important cell biological processes in mechanistic detail by reconstituting in vitro or using the mammalian cell cultures or a yeast model system. In addition, I acquired extensive experience in microscopy techniques like total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy (TIRF), confocal microscopy and wide field microscopy. Other scientific expertise includes protein biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, and cell culture studies.

I joined Sapkota lab in July 2022. My current research focuses on developing bivalent heterobifunctional small molecules that dephosphorylate target proteins. This a collaborative project between Sapkota, Saurin and Ciulli labs.
