I completed my PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Science in Melbourne, Australia, where my research focused on targeted protein degradation. This included the development of solid-phase synthetic methodologies for the preparation of these molecules, and the application of these degraders in targeting critical proteins involved in Hepatitis B virus replication. In 2024, following my PhD, I joined the lab of Dr. Chiara Maniaci at the MRCPPU at the University of Dundee. Here, my research explores post-translational modifications of proteins containing terminally fused ubiquitin-like domains. To gain deeper insights into these modifications, I am designing and developing protein- and peptide-based chemical probes. These probes enable me to investigate the complex biophysical interactions underpinning these essential cellular processes.
