I joined the Sapkota lab in January 2021 as a postdoctoral researcher. My project will be focussed on identifying and characterising E3 ligases and DUBs involved in the degradation of alpha-synuclein and ultimately aims to uncover molecular pathways to gain insights into the regulation of pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease.

Prior to joining the lab, I completed my doctoral studies at Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey. During my Ph.D., my main interest was to understand the direct link between the ubiquitin proteasome system and autophagy in the regulation of mitochondrial removal. Outside the lab, I enjoy traveling, reading and cooking.
