I completed my BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Leeds. During my undergraduate degree I undertook an industrial placement year within Janssen Pharmaceuticals. I then went on to complete a PhD within Regenerative Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. My PhD project involved the application of stem cell derived cellular models of Parkinson's disease to investigate the expression and function of LRRK2 and VPS35 and to screen for novel compounds which reduce synucleinopathy.

In my current role I am working within Esther Sammler’s group to investigate the effect of VPS35 mutations on LRRK2 signalling pathways and lysosomal function."
