Yili join Rouse’s lab in Dec 2021 as a Senior Research Associate to explore the potential of translation medicine for cancer therapy.

Yili qualified as a medical doctor in China was awarded a PhD in School of Life Sciences, Dundee, for research on ‘The N-terminal sequences in EBV-EBNA1 and p53 regulate protein synthesis and proteasomal degradation’. She then moved on to the post of postdoctoral researcher in Professor Tickle’s lab, where she was involved in identifing a new gene, talpid3 in Sonic Hedgehog pathway. Since 2007, she has been working with Professor Ron Hay and discovered Sumo-targeted ubiquitin E3 ligase RNF4 as a new factor of DNA damage repair.
