I joined the Muqit Lab in October 2026 as a Research Assistant working on the Targets to Therapies (T2T) project, funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation. T2T is an industry-academic collaborative project which aims to support translational development of future therapeutics which target underlying mechanisms within Parkinson’s disease.

Prior to joining the Muqit lab, I completed my MScR in Integrative Neuroscience with the University of Edinburgh under the supervision of Dr Claire Durrant. The Durrant Lab specialises in organotypic brain slice cultures which can recapitulate the mature human brain, allowing investigation of cellular/synaptic pathology and drug testing within brain tissues. My research focused on molecular and cellular characterisation of human brain slice cultures across varying tissue culture conditions to optimise use of this novel model.
