I studied biochemistry both at the undergraduate and Master’s level at prestigious universities in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2006 I was awarded a Commonwealth scholarship to study for a PhD in the to the UK. I undertook my PhD in in Daan van Aalten’s Lab in Dundee, where I investigated the mechanisms of enzymes of the hexosamine biosynthetic pathway in Aspergillus fumigatus, using X-ray crystallography in understanding protein structure-function as well as inhibitor screening. I joined Miratul’s lab in July 2020 to work on the macromolecular characterisation of PINK1.
