On 21st August, MRC PPU proteomic research manager, Dr. Houjiang Zhou, delivered a distinguished alumni lecturer in DICP, China. In honour of DCIP's many significant contributions to the field of analytic chemistry in the past 70 years, the lecture was awarded to Houjiang in recognition of his innovative PhD research in DICP on development of highly specific phosphopeptide enrichment technology and his pioneering role to establish research collaborations on proteomics between China and Canada. Houjiang delivered his latest collaborative research with Prof. Dario Alessi and Prof. Alessio Ciulli on PROTAC approaches targeting hVPS34-SGK3 pathway.
The Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences is celebrating its 70th anniversary of its founding in 1949. DICP is highly recognized around the world for its leadership in fields like chemical engineering, organic chemistry, chromatography, molecular reaction dynamics and catalytic chemistry. The research at DICP has closely reflected the scientific and economic demands of China and stands at the forefront of fundamental and applied sciences. DICP has established an excellent track record of academic and industrial accomplishments in catalytic chemistry, chemical engineering, chemical lasers, modern analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and biotechnology. These achievements have substantially contributed to Chinese economic and technological development, as well as the word. Through the continuous efforts of several generations, DICP has earned a strong reputation as comprehensive research institution covering all facets of chemical research from laboratory discovery to fundamental investigations to technology transfer that paves the way to industrial applications. Technology from DICP contributes more than $145 billion per year in industrial outputs.
