I joined the MRC PPU in January 2024 as a technician in Prof. Dario Alessi's lab, with a primary focus on generating research tools to study pathways implicated in Parkinson's disease. Prior to that, I graduated with a BSc in Genetic Medicine from the joint degree program between the University of Dundee and the National University of Singapore. My honours thesis, supervised by Professor Chew Fook Tim at NUS, was titled "Atopic Dermatitis: P2RX7 Gene Expression and Associated Genetic Variants".

I am currently also assisting Dr Arpan Mehta establish his new lab within the MRC PPU. Here, I am working on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), focusing on the most frequently occurring mutation - an intronic hexanucleotide repeat expansion in the C9orf72 gene. I am being trained in a protocol using ALS patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), differentiating them into motor neurons using transcription factor-mediated differentiation methodology.
