I joined the Alessi Lab at the MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit as a postdoctoral researcher to explore LRRK2’s role in Parkinson’s disease. My work on the LITE project centres on PPM1H, a phosphatase that dephosphorylates Rab proteins, thereby counteracting LRRK2 signalling. This research positions PPM1H as a promising therapeutic target for Parkinson’s disease.

Prior to joining the Alessi Lab, I completed my PhD in Biotechnology at Delhi Technological University under the supervision of Prof. Pravir Kumar. My doctoral research focussed on mutation studies of the BRCA1-BARD1 complex in Alzheimer’s disease, examining how these mutations impair its E3 ligase activity and DNA repair mechanisms.

Beyond academia, I hold a degree in Kathak dance and am proficient in playing the Indian classical instrument, Santoor.
