I joined the Virdee lab in the fall of 2025 with the goal of studying the structure and catalytic mechanism of large E3 ligases. My project focuses on developing novel probes to study E3 ligases with a specific focus on RNF213.
Prior to joining the MRC PPU, I completed my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Gary Shaw at Western University in Canada. Using NMR and other biophysical techniques I explored the structure and dynamics of the E3 ligase parkin. My work identified key conformational changes necessary for catalytic activity and revealed the disease relevance of Parkinson’s Disease substitutions.
