I graduated with a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Biology in 2014 from the University of Extremadura, where after I started a 4-years PhD programme.
I am pursuing my PhD studies at the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Extremadura (Spain) under guidance of Prof.Francisco Javier Martin-Romero. My PhD focuses on evaluating the role of the loss of STIM1 in Ca2+ homeostasis and cell viability in SH-SY5Y cells in culture.
I joined to the Miratul´s Muqit in July 2017 for a three months stay and my goal is to study if cell death observed in STIM1-KO cells during neuronal differentiation could be related with mitophagy pathway.
