I joined the Muqit lab as a postdoctoral researcher in January 2026, where I am working on a translational project focused on enhancing mitophagy. My research centres on PINK1-dependent pathways implicated in neurodegeneration, particularly Parkinsons disease, with an emphasis on understanding and modulating PINK1-mediated mitophagy.
Prior to joining the MRC PPU, I completed my PhD under the supervision of Dr Tracey Gloster at the University of St Andrews. My doctoral research focused on the structural and functional characterisation of human metabolic enzymes. During my PhD, I also undertook a three-month industry placement at Jena Bioscience in Germany.
