In 2015 I obtained a First Class Honours degree in Biochemistry from the University of Dundee. During my final year of studies I undertook a research project within the MRC PPU, where I first became familiar with the services provided by the DSTT. After a year of working in lab management, I joined the Insect Cell Expression team in 2016. Here I am responsible for maintaining cell cultures and expressing, purifying and analysing target proteins from recombinant insect cells. I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of optimising the expression of different proteins and the opportunity to work within such a highly knowledgeable team.
