I joined the Alessi lab in October 2020, where my project focuses on determining the lipidomic, metabolomic and proteomic changes that occur at lysosomes impacted by Parkinson’s disease-associated mutations. This project forms part of the University of Dundee’s DSTT collaboration with industry partners.

Prior to joining the MRC PPU, I was awarded my PhD from the University of St Andrews, where I worked in the lab of Prof. Terry Smith to characterise putative protein drug targets in protozoan parasites as part of a drug discovery consortium. In 2018, I moved to the University of Glasgow to take up a postdoctoral position in Prof. Michael Barrett’s lab at the WCIP, where my research involved metabolomics and lipidomics studies of parasite metabolism and drug response, working closely with Glasgow Polyomics. My research interests are rooted in drug discovery and development.

In 2021-2022, I was awarded the role of University of Dundee’s postdoctoral ‘Ambassador for Industry Engagement’ by the Scottish Universities Life Sciences Association (SULSA).
