I completed a BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Dundee. Subsequently, I joined Professor Dean van Aalten's lab at the University of Dundee, and completed a PhD in Structural Biology. My research focused on the mechanistic characterization of intellectual disability (ID)-associated mutations in human O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT).

Following my PhD, I undertook a postdoc position at the University of Glasgow in Professor Helen Walden's lab. There, I concentrated on the recombinant production, in vitro reconstitution, and structural characterization of the Parkinson's disease-associated E3 ubiquitin ligating enzyme Parkin and its binding partners.

Later on, I contributed to the team at Ubiquigent Ltd, where my work aligned with the development of compounds targeting (de)ubiquitylating enzymes for in-house and strategic collaborative Drug Discovery projects.

Currently, I am part of Professor Satpal Virdee's lab at the MRC PPU. In my current role, my project aims to enhance our understanding of the mechanism of action and the modulators of the unconventional E3 ligating enzyme MYCBP2.
